Monthly Archives: June 2011

Mind bending sounds will be emanating from Tin Can Alehouse (1863 5th Ave) this Friday, July 01.

On tour from Austin, Texas duo Zorch will be live in the flesh with some electronic mathy beats from space.

Hot Nerds are Alia Jyawook (Christwaves, Say Wen, Kata, Bitter Sober, Tiny Telephones) and Nathan Joyner (All Leather, Leg Lifters, Secret Fun Club, Some Girls).

Post-prog skronk space tropicalia math lounge favorites Innerds, Bobby Bray (The Locust, Henk, Holy Molar) and Brandon Relf (Sleeping People). These two brainiacs will shortly release their long awaited EP “Western Spaghettification” and are set to tour the west coast this September with 2UP (Japan) and Upsilon Acrux (LA).

San Diego favorites, Gloomsday will be keepin’ it real as always!

I will be in the back booth providing the jams in between the bands, I plan on playing the entire new SSION album “BENT”!

Makeout Weird – Thursday June 16th

“With sound / video / radio projects like Neighborhood Public Radio and Anthology Film Archives, Micheal Trigillio’s work has been at a number of museums and galleries including the Whitney, MOCA (LA), and LACMA. But at MW this revolutionary UCSD professor will be performing his insane sound project EVERYTHING IS UP, which this time will consist of modular synthesis and touch screen applications (the best of both worlds – digital/analog). We are lucky to have this intriguing character in San Diego, come check it out!

In the dj booth will be Ego War and Monsterpussy all night long. This is definitely your chance to get on the dance floor (pants or no pants).

Every MW new artwork is curated for a week long stay at the Whistle Stop. This month works by world renowned local street artist Acamonchi (Gerardo Yepiz) will be on display. Also, metaphysical observations/discoveries by Gil Dominguez will be available for eyeball/mind feasting.” –Bobby Bray
